A couple of years ago I was approached by a company in Belfast to manage the UK and Ireland part of an Industry 4.0 project in the Wood Manufacturing Sector to develop an extensive online training tool. Not having a lot of experience in the sector thought it wouldn’t be the most exciting project I’d ever worked on. How wrong was I !! I still was living in the dark ages thinking of furniture manufacture as being just people with hammers, saws finished with stitching fabric over the top. Ok lets not lie to ourselves many niche companies still do this in a very high end, successful way. What I wasn’t prepared for was the extent that technology is and could be applied to the sector. This really bowled me over! I hadn’t expected technologies in areas like these being used in the sector but see below.

Stephen Sloan In4Wood, has facilitated networks, run projects both nationally and internationally in multiple sectors for over 23 years.

But don’t take my word for it – take a look for yourself In4Wood– all training is delivered via groups of Video Pills of approximately 3 minutes and best of all it is completely free to use!!
