What is MatteFace plywood?
MatteFace Plywood (MTF) is Vinawood's matte phenolic surface film panel for concrete formwork. It casts a matte face instead of the gloss you get from standard film-faced or HDO. Available in kraft, purple, and black colorways. "Kraft" here is a colorway name, not a paper-overlay claim.
Is MatteFace the same as MDO?
No. Buyers often search for MatteFace as MDO formwork plywood — that is a soft search bridge only. MatteFace is a matte phenolic forming film. Kraft-paper MDO is a paint and signage overlay class. Do not write Vinawood MDO on the RFQ; write MatteFace.
What is MatteFace used for?
Matte concrete formwork — walls, columns, and other pours where the drawing wants a matte strip. Up to 15 reuses with proper edge sealing and release agent. It is not a signage, paint-grade, or fascia panel.
How many times can MatteFace plywood be reused?
Up to 15 under good site practice. That is a maximum, not a guarantee. Thin release agent every pour, plastic scrapers at strip-out, sealed cut edges, and flat storage under cover decide whether you hit the card.
How does MatteFace compare to film-faced and HDO?
Standard film-faced and HDO throw a glossier concrete face. MatteFace is the matte phenolic forming option. HDO Basic is up to 10; HDO Premium and Premium HD up to 20. Film-faced reuse follows the grade card (Form Basic up to 10 through Pro Form up to 20). Pick by finish and reuse target, not by which acronym sounds denser.
