How many times can you reuse formwork plywood?
Catalogue maxima run from a few pours for bare panels to up to 8 for Eco Form Plus, up to 10 for Form Basic, up to 15 for Form Extra (MUF EN 636-2) and Pro Form Lite (PF EN 636-3), and up to 20 for Pro Form and HDO Premium. These are ceilings under sealed edges, release agent and dry storage—not a site promise.
How many times can we use plywood formwork?
Plan at roughly 60 to 80 percent of the catalogue maximum. A panel rated up to 20 may be budgeted for 12 to 16 pours on a mixed commercial site; one rated up to 10 for six to eight. Cuts, wet storage and rough stripping usually end a sheet before the headline figure.
Can form ply get wet?
WBP and Class 3 bonds are water-resistant, not watertight. Water still enters at cuts, drilled holes and damaged edges. Seal fresh cuts the same day and keep stacks off wet ground. A high-cycle panel can be lost in one rain if end grain is left open.
What shortens formwork plywood reuse on site?
Unsealed cuts, wet-ground storage, skipped release agent and steel-bar stripping are the usual early failures. Seal edges, apply a thin even release coat, strike on the engineer's schedule with wedges, and clean before paste hardens.
Why do Form Basic and Form Extra reuse differently?
Both carry the same phenolic face film and both are EN 636-2 Class 2. Form Extra reaches up to 15 where Form Basic reaches up to 10 because of Superior Glue MUF in the core, not a heavier film. Form Extra is not Class 3.
Where does Pro Form Lite sit in the reuse ladder?
Pro Form Lite is PF / EN 636-3 Class 3 with a 165 g/m² phenolic film, rated up to 15. It fills the step between Form Extra (MUF Class 2, up to 15) and Pro Form (PF Class 3, up to 20) when the programme needs Class 3 chemistry without the top band.
