Plyboard is lighter and adequate for cabinet box construction in dry conditions, but plywood is the safer choice for shelves, structural panels, and any application carrying significant load.

Plyboard is typically cheaper than premium marine or WBP-bonded plywood at the same thickness, but more expensive than ordinary interior plywood. In the 2026 PH retail market, an 18 mm plyboard sheet runs roughly ₱1,200–₱1,800, sitting between ordinary plywood (~₱730–₱1,110) and marine plywood (~₱1,300–₱1,700).
